It is state testing time at APS! Last week, BHE students and staff were decked out in their best "Super Hero Day" attire in order to make students excited about the upcoming state testing. Good luck to all the young super heroes who are going to ROCK this year's state tests.
Adair FCCLA at State Convention
This past week, Adair FCCLA attended the annual State FCCLA Convention in Tulsa. Check out some of the highlights from convention!
Jacey Birkenfeld & Addison Swift placed 1st in the state in the Entrepreneurship Contest where they presented their business plan for a drive through coffee shop!
30 students attend the State Convention on behalf of Adair FCCLA where the program was recognized as a Gold Emblem chapter and received an award for 100% FCS Participation.
Senior FCCLA member, Camryn Maddoux, also signed her letter of intent to become a future FCS/FCCLA advisor and was awarded an academic scholarship from Oklahoma State!

Congratulations to the Adair High School Band on their performance at the Choctaw Band Contest on Wednesday! The Warriors earned a division one, Superior rating! The safety and well being of APS students is our greatest priority! Recently, APS Alumni, and Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Jerod Martin coordinated with our very own SRO Brent Allen to create a safe driving event for AHS Juniors & Seniors. Students participated in sobriety field tests, wore impaired driving goggles while operating an atv, and experienced a rollover simulator. AHS Juniors & Seniors had real conversations about the dangers of driving while impaired. Thank you OHP Martin and APS SRO Brent Allen for creating this engaging opportunity for our students!

Adair FCCLA Partners with Local Non-Profits
Both the Eastern Oklahoma Food Pantry and the Ronald McDonald House were the recipients of community service efforts made by Adair FCCLA members. Service -- its the Warrior Way!
Warrior Vocal Students Awarded Superior Rating
Five Adair Warrior Vocal Music Students recently participated in the District Solo & Ensemble contest at Pryor High School, in Pryor, OK. Four students earned Superior ratings, and gold medals for their solo performances. One student earned an excellent rating for her solo performance.
Students who earned superior ratings are Hope McDowell-11th grade, Sara Kirk-9th grade, River Andrews-9th grade, and Nataly McAnally-7th grade. An Excellent rating was earned by Trinity Sinks-10th grade.

Adair HS STEM Visits RAE Corporation
After completing a career study, students from the STEMLab classes were taken to visit Rae-Corp to learn more about careers and job opportunities in the MidAmerica Industrial Park. Thank you Dulcinea Wenzelriley for coordinating the visit for us.

Bodine Signs with Labette Community College Softball
AHS Senior, Bailey Bodine, signed a letter of intent to play college softball at Labette Community College. Congratulations, Bodine!
Wells Excels at State Swim Meet
Junior Ryleigh Wells earned 3rd place in both the 50 yd freestyle and 100 yd breaststroke at the OSSAA State Swim Meeting in Jenks. Congratulations, Ryleigh!

Ground Breaking - Bernita Hughes Elementary School
Adair Public Schools officially broke ground on the new Bernita Hughes elementary building on Wednesday January 31st. Phase 2 of the recent bond issue will provide a new elementary main building and storm shelter. Our district is thankful for our community supporting our students through bond issues that help improve our district facilities!
